Collaborative Education Programme
OEIM was instrumental in establishing links between the two partner universities and at obtaining the necessary Chinese government approval. We have a contract with Staffordshire University to manage the daily operation of their franchised and quality assured programmes which are delivered on campus at Chengdu University of Technology. This includes all programme delivery, student assessment, including the recruitment and selection of teaching staff and all the daily administrative tasks.
This is the first of our programmes to be established and is now very successful with a very high quality of teaching and rigorous academic standards.

Chengdu University of Technology in China
Chengdu University of Technology, established in 1956, is a multi-subject University specializing in science and engineering, with coordinated modules in economics, management, art, law, philosophy and agriculture, . Currently, the University has over 25,000 students including over 400 reading for a doctorate, 1,800 Masters, 320 engineers. There are 2115 teaching and administrative staff including 2 academicians of Chinese Sciences Academy. 62 teachers hold doctorates and more than 470 hold a master’s degree. There are 153 professors and 318 associate professors. The University successively undertook more than 2800 scientific research projects of various kinds, obtaining more than 730 rewards at various levels, including the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress and second prize of national natural science. Since 1992, the University has obtained 41 teaching achievement prizes at national-level and provincial-levels, and create more than 26 award-winning teaching packages.
The University pays attention to international exchanges and cooperation, having established steady cooperation with more than 30 external universities and scientific research institutions, receiving more than 2000 foreign experts and foreign students from over 40 countries to give lectures or study.
Programme introduction
Chengdu University of Technology and Staffordshire University collaborate in running a joint education programme approved by Sichuan Education Department, which issues both Chinese and British Diplomas (Sichuan education foreign affairs Department, Approval document: [2004] 226th). This programme integrates the high-quality resources and practices of Britain's higher education system with those of China to educate students and give them the international perspective needed in today’s globalized world.
